HERO? OH YEAAAAAHH

One of India’s most underrated motorcycle manufacturers seems to have pulled a fast one on the entire Indian biking community. They are allegedly going to launch a performance-focused 200cc motorcycle, based on the CBZ X-Treme platform, in the next few months. The Xtreme 200 S was first teased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. While it does look like an Xtreme with larger panels, DRLs and a wider rear tyre, I desperately hope that it is not. The 200cc segment, lead by the likes of the Duke 200, RTR 200 4V and the legendary 200NS exists because India has started to love performance. Ride a Duke 200 to really feel what I am talking about. The instant pull from 3000 rpm all the way to the 7000 rpm will suddenly reinstate your faith in God. Does Hero, with it’s pocket-friendly, white-collared. accha-baccha performance ideology plan to rev things up? Industry insiders have suggested […]

Tell us something about yourself I am VARTIKA JAIN SRIVASTAVA (AKA VEEJAY), the first Lady Tourer of Lucknow and Varanasi who frequents the north and north eastern frontiers on my motorcycle. I am an open minded rider who has broken the ‘bike’ barrier not just by getting on a bike. Beyond following my passion I wanted to break this stereotype that exists in our society. And I did so by clinching a few records in the Limca Book of Records, India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records too. I am promoting women empowerment through my work and enthusiasm towards an uncommon field for girls. How did you become a motorcyclist? Bikes always fascinated me since childhood, but initially I always thought it was a guy thing. In 2007 my friend Mr. Ambar Srivastava (now my husband) offered to let me ride his bike and looking at my dedication offered to teach me and from the […]
